 | Clarification People,
YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND how simple activities accumulate usage. I have sprint evdo with a BW counter. I track my usage. I got the unlimited plan and I'm often amazed at how 45 minutes of checking email, watching a few music videos on you tube, and chatting eat up. I think the average 45 mins is around 200 MB per session. Now imagine for someone that spends a lot of time on the internet. Say 6 hours a day JUST BROWSING and doing LEGAL activities. That would be around 1.2 GB a day x 30 days. You are talking 36 GB just for basic normal usage. That isn't figure anything illegal. The fact TW tried to institute a 40 GB capped really amazed me at the time. What exactly do these guys consider high usage to constitute traffic shaping? I can see if someone is using 500GB - 1 TB a month though I say anything over 1 TB / 1000 GB might warrant it. Below that, a person could simply be gaming a lot, watching videos online, and doing perfectly legal activities. Over 1000 GB a month I'd say they are definitely p2p'ing, newsgroups, etc. Either way, I'd still take TWC over ATT. I don't trust ATT after they cooperated with the U.S> government handed over all our data without any hesitation. TWC fought that. Therefore, unless it gets bad, I'll stick with these guys. |
