Re: Living in Kentucky on a Farm Love,
I am not sure about Western Kentucky, but in Ohio, I can get Sprint EVDO. While I have a main broadband carrier, I use sprint EVDO whenever I am on the road. As long as there is a cell tower for sprint, you can use the internet. Speeds are anywhere from 1 mbit (125KB/S) dn to 128 (16KB/S) up in revision 0 to 3mbit dn (375KB/S) and 768 up (96KB/S). Therefore, instead of pissing away money on satellite, why not have your family invest in this service? Cost is 50-60 dollars a month for unlimited usage. While pings are relatively high (200-300ms) they are much better than satellite usually offers. Also, you are not stuck to some ridiculous usage cap. Just a thought bud. |
