A moot point in Canada because of caps

A speed increase in Canada just means you hit your monthly cap faster. It you bust your caps you could lose your house and other things. With caps as low as ONE gigabyte per month you download for 5 minutes of that month and have all the rest of the month except for 5 minutes for other things.
