Because of its success, ConnectKentucky is being held up as a model for a federal broadband initiative
the key word is "model". a federal level plan wouldn't even be the same "model" as the one here in Kentucky. what a way to trash something without knowing any details.

Then why is Rick Boucher, a congressman from Virginia, touting it as a model?

Where did I say anything about the success or failure of the Connect Kentucky program?

We have plenty of examples that show that simply federalizing a problem is not the same as solving it. No Child Left Behind frequently comes up as proof of this. The NCLB approach tried at the state level has actually worked, but the one-size-fits-all approach taken by the Federal government has caused nothing but grief for school systems.

oh yeah, NCLB-now there's an example of something "working". That shite never worked on any level.

If you think a state level model (despite whoever touts it-that's nice and theoretical) gets rolled out on a federal level in the same way, I've got some Arizona swampland to sell you...
