You will probley never get advertised speeds ever. You see with cable internet you share bandwidth with every one in your area, at least thats what I learned in my Networking 112 class at Henry Ford Community college.

I have been with comcast for over 5 years. There service is good. There are ways to tweak your connection but dont expect to get 6Mbps every single day.
