My firewire connection turns off my 6416 with my tv...

Hi all,

I have a nice Mits 65' Diamond set with a firewire input. I have hooked up the firewire to get the best picutre I can.

My problem is that whenever I turn the TV off the 6416 DVR powers off as well. This is without question because of the firewire connection.

Is there any way to prevent the automatic shut down of the DVR while still keeping the firewire connection hooked up?

Thanks!

David

actually its most likely not your firewire connection when they gave you the remote they probably set it to control the tv and the stb with the same button press. Read the remote manual to disable that.

I don't actually use the supplied remote. I have custom programed my MX-950 to control the system.

I have verified that it is the firewire connection that is causing the shutdown by using the power button on the front of the television to turn it off.

Any ideas?

No there isn't.

BTW, if you use firewire you will not be able to access any guides or your playlist. At least I can't on my mits 73713.

The good news is that I do not notice better pq using firewire v. component.

I use firewire to offload hd stuff to my rca2160. I have firewire going from the moto to the rca and rca to the tv. When I'm not using the rca I keep it unplugged so the TV doesn't see either device.
