Check the bottom right corner of the text box ..... sweet! Safari 3 is blazing fast on both OSX and WinXP. I can't wait to get home and try it out on the Mac .... so far so good on Wintendo.
Can't wait to get the better fonts, too .... |

| reply to rjackson Agreed. Although like the Webkit nightly build it seems to give me trouble when posting on this site. Seems to forget to submit what I've typed. Very fast on both platforms though. Love it! -- »web.mac.com/jwsmiths/ |

1 edit | reply to BellBoy I've switched over to Safari for my default for now. Working very well and very fast. The new AT&T/Yahoo mail beta craps out (not surprising), but the older version is noticably faster than FF or IE.
Looks like it sucked in all of my FF previously vistited sites automatically--no bookmarks loaded, but all I have to do is start typing an address and it auto-completes. Sweet.
Noticed something interesting while posting this...if you right-click in posting window, you can change the writing direction (L to R, and R to L). I can't seem to select the other direction though.
So far a great beta, but of course time (and bug finds) will tell the tale.
Edit: oh! and you can change the order of tabs easily by dragging and dropping. |

| reply to BellBoy said by BellBoy :Downloading now...two download options with QT and without. I'm getting the standalone now (8 megs). Will report back any issues. Even though I love Firefox and use it nearly exclusively (I use IE for listening to Sirius online), I am looking forward to trying Safari out, once it's out of Beta. -- "When you get lost in your imaginatory vagueness, your foresight becomes a nimble vagrant."

| reply to BellBoy A pet peeve that I uncovered...if you stop at a spot on the site, halfway down say, most browsers will snap back to that spot after a refresh. Safari is sending me back to the top of the page.
