Safari, Apples turbo-charged web browser, uses Bonjour to find any web addresses on your local network for printer, router or webcam setup and administration, for instance. With the help of Bonjour, iChat AV lets you see which people are available for chatting or video conferencing on your local network, and automatically removes them when they leave. iTunes and iPhoto also use Bonjour to facilitate sharing music and photos on local networks. |

said by BellBoy :Edit: oh! and you can change the order of tabs easily by dragging and dropping. Try dragging a tab off the tab bar; the tab will come off and make itself a new window. And vice-versa!
Add edit: Hotmail/Window Live Mail still not supported with Safari 3. It still tells me that I need IE 6 or Firefox 1.5 and higher to support the advanced features of Hotmail. But, Hotmail still works though.

| reply to BellBoy How do you install plugins so they work? I just installed the Adobe flash plugin, but it's still not working on a site I visit daily with no issues in Fx. I don't see it in the Safari plugin folder either. I followed the instructions on the Safari site>Adobe site (download .exe and run from desktop). When I check on the Adobe site, it says I have the current version.
Also, I just got an error when clicking the "back" button that caused Safari to close ("Do you want to report this error to MS?"). hmmm.....
And is there any reason why my Windows taskbar won't drop down over the Safari window when it's maximized? A setting perhaps? -- ~~"As long as America is an infidel enemy, terrorizing it is a duty." Sayed Imam Abdul-Aziz el-Sheriff~~

| reply to BellBoy Using this actually makes me want to buy a Mac! I know, that sounds sad, but this browser is absolutely amazing. It seems like everything that I want to do is right where I want it! Not to mention, the AA on the fonts is just right - unlike MS Cleartype where it's still hard to read even on a high quality LCD!

2 edits | reply to BellBoy Ok, check the flash player problem, it's now working.
EDIT: and so is posting after previewing. Must be a plot, lol.....
Only thing that seems to still be not working (maybe by design?) is I can't get the Windows taskbar to drop down over the Safari window when it's maximized.
Otherwise, it seems pretty nice, I know it's still beta so there might be some glitches. |
