| reply to BellBoy Re: Safari Beta For Windows
Anyone else seeing this issue?
I'm using a dual monitor configuration with Nvidia graphics on Windows XP.
When I put Safari on the 2nd monitor and maximize it, the Safari window disappears, but it is still on the taskbar. I can only Move or Close it. Move doesn't do anything since the Window is not there.
When I choose close, it closes, and when I reopen, it starts, maximized on the 1st monitor.
I always like to do my web browsing on the 2nd monitor off to the right, so this is a bit annoying for me. |

| reply to Thinkdiff When Apple announced their switch to Intel's architecture there were cries of "Now why will the developers want to write for OS X??" but it seems like Apple has used this as an excuse to increase their presence in the software realm as well as the hardware. | reply to Digital said by Digital :OMG, this is the absolute coolest thing I've ever seen a browser do! If you highlight some text, and right click, you can have it search google for you on it's own! Now THAT is cool. That feature has been in Safari for a long time.

| reply to BellBoy Imported my bookmarks from Mozilla with not too much trouble - though I would like to be able to access them from the Bookmarks Bar or from the menu without having to click Show All Bookmarks (Ctrl+Alt+B).
It did pick up my proxy settings from Ad Subtract Pro, and it appears as though filtering works normally, though I won't be able to empty the cache or delete cookies from it.
I'll probably continue to use Mozilla as my default browser, but keep Safari and use it every now and then. I do notice one quirk with it - when minimized and then restored, it doesn't maximize, but instead resizes to a normal window. -- "The trouble with computers, of course, is that they are very sophisticated idiots." - Doctor Who (from Robot) We are the Hacker Collective: Resistance Is Futile - All Your AACS Keys Will Be Assimilated. |

| reply to La Luna Yeah the posting issue where clicking "Post Now" or any of the others brings up an empty comments field and then I have to press the back button and try the "Post Now" button again until it goes through.... happens very randomly and not too frequently. -- »web.mac.com/jwsmiths/ |

1 edit | reply to BellBoy Keep and eye on your CPU cycles and memory. I was just ready some rss feeds from Macworld and the CPU is pegging to 98% and memory is continually growing (using it one windows).
Restarted Safari and all is good. But this is definitely a BETA.
Edit: It actually seems to do it when you click on a link from the RSS screens.

Thanks. It's obviously a "bug" then. Oh well, it's to be expected.
I probably won't use this as my default browser, it's not as customizable as Fx with all it's add on's, but it's still pretty nice, definitely worth keeping and playing with. -- ~~"As long as America is an infidel enemy, terrorizing it is a duty." Sayed Imam Abdul-Aziz el-Sheriff~~
