en102Canadian, eh? join:2001-01-26 Valencia, CA | reply to djrobx looks like no U-verse anytime soon for Valencia Hills... most of the older HOA's including Tempo and Old Orchard have lines that are in such bad shape that they'll have to rewire the entire neighborhood (might as well do FTTP). Tech was just at the house, as they had a short, and killed POTS (DSL still worked). They don't expect U-Verse to work in my tract for at least another year. Might as well use my DirecTv coupon that just came in the mail for discounts for the next year. |

| Well, maybe by then U-verse will be a better product.
I remember way back in 1999 (pre-Pronto) when I was desperately trying to get broadband, a tech told me they had bad luck with DSL installs in Valencia. He claimed contractors being paid per-foot installed the wiring in really crazy ways in order to pad their wallets.
Lord only knows why they haven't graced our half of my tract with access to our nearby VRAD, if they ever plan to at all. -- Laser eye surgery rocks! I love frickin' laser beams. |
