said by hornetsfan31 :AT&T hopes a price cut will spur dial-up users to switch to high-speed Internet service. AT&T on Friday announced a limited-time promotion in which it is shaving $5 from the monthly cost of entry-level DSL for new users in the Southeast. At $19.95, the price is the same as its dial-up service. Existing users of FastAccess DSL Lite won't be able to enjoy the new price they'll have to keep paying $24.95 per month. They will, however, get the higher speeds introduced as part of the promotion. Prices of faster DSL services are not being lowered. Yes, Bellsouth former customers still pay more that any other AT&T customers.
said by hornetsfan31 :Even with the promotional price break, AT&T users in other parts of the country have access to similar service for less. Those outside BellSouth's former territory can subscribe to AT&T's Basic DSL for $14.99 per month. And everywhere outside of Bellsouth's former Territory is cheaper on all levels even the DSL Lite.
»$10 768kbps AT&T DSL This Weekend
That makes us the regional red-headed step-children of AT&T's buyout of BS. You'd have to move to get a bargain and that's no bargain, now is it? -- Whats the point of owning a supercar if you cant scare yourself stupid from time to time? |

said by hihi :Thought its being advertised as 768/128 and for every other region as well no one sync at 768/128 but at 768/384. No one in AT&T SE (former BellSouth) area will be syncing at 384 up. They will sync at 128 up as advertised.
said by hihi :It's possible that the higher tier may get an upload boost to 1.5/384, 3.0/512, and 6.0/768 in the near future. Your download speed may decrease to match advertising speed so some may have better stability that are on the borderline. Is there some point in spreading baseless rumors about upload speeds? |

HSI" packages to the AT&T Southeast region. I am starting to wonder if that is even in the works. -- Norman ~Oh Lord, why have you come ~To Konnyu, with the Lion and the Drum |

Where online will you find the $10 deal for DSL lite? Currently all I see is the $19.95 offer. Will the $10 offer only be made if you request it? I have a friend who wants to get DSL if they offer the $10 rate. |

Checked the website and if you try to order it it says NOT AVAILABLE. However all the higher speeds are. WTF is up with that? How can I be able to get 1.5, 3.0 and 6.0 but not 768? |

I have a friend who wants to get DSL if they offer the $10 rate. I have no links and the News Article did not provide any links or specific "how to order" details. It appears from the AT&T Press release that the pricing is different in the 9 Southern States that were Bellsouth and they are selling it at the higher $19.95 instead (all the DSL Plans in the 9 former Bellsouth States are higher than the regular AT&T Pricing from the former SBC areas).
I did get a response here:
»Is it advertised anywhere at all?
AT&T Yahoo! High Speed Internet Check now to see if you qualify for special offers on AT&T Yahoo! High Speed Internet. Begin by answering the questions below, and then select "Continue" to proceed to our Check Availability page. »https://swot.sbc.com/swot/promoLanding.do
If the above link doesn't work for the former 9 State Bellsouth area then all I can suggest is to call and ask about it.
