Something satellite cannot do is Switched digital video (SDV)

Satellite doesn't need to do that; they aren't running internet and phone down the same RG-6.

Fayetteville, AR		 The DBS satellite system works very similar to what you point out in SDV. You only get the channels you request, which send voltage to the lnbf to switch transponders.
