Re: Virgin 20 Meg

Yes m8 I totally agree.... they are simply throttling everyone - I did a few tests a short while ago with some friends.... and its defo a blanket throttling going on.

Agreed. Even after I was connected back to the correct server for the speed, I am still way down on where we all should be.

As a result, I am giving consideration to downgrading to the lower M service level as this, for my purposes, will be more cost effective.

You know, I was just looking at the VM web pages and found this one:
»allyours.virginmedia.com/money_b···tee.html

Suggests Happiness guaranteed or your money back... Could be worth a few of us following it perhaps?

These clowns are serious liars and what they are doing is fraudulent. They advertise unlimited 20 meg but if you read the small print that isn't what they are offering. They are throttling everyone. I havent downloaded more than 200 megs today and I am capped, same yesterday. What's even worse is they cap your upstream as well. I have written to Oftel about this and I will be pursuing it as this kind of thing cannot be allowed to continue. NTL has been a disaster since Virgin took over. If they cant offer the 20 meg download service they are advertising, they should not be advertising it.
