Does AT&T advertise the $10 DSL anywhere?

Unless I'm mistaken (which is very possible) it looks like they've been forced by regulators to offer $10 DSL across their footprint as a merger condition, but aren't actually bothering to tell anyone this is available, instead advertising a higher price ($19.95)?

Last I looked, it was 14.95 for the 768 tier. Express (1.5/384) was 19.95, Pro (3/512) 24.95 and Elite (6/768) 34.95. Express, Pro, and Elite have all been solid for me, but then again, there's an RT about a block away.

I could save my grandparent's $4 a month using this unadvertised plan.

Ride it out, and when you're old enough, move elsewhere?

If you live in the former 9 State Bellsouth Territory it is not available at that price. It was $24.95 for DSL Lite and they dropped to $19.95 for DSL Lite new customers only. Original customers still will pay the $24.95 as it not available at $19.95 much less $10.00 to them. They are grandfathered? into higher pricing. Way to go BS/AT&T.

Take a look at the prices for the AT&T customers in the 9 Southern States that were Bellsouth.

DSL Lite DSL Ultra DSL Xtreme FastAccess 6MB
$19.95 $32.95 $37.95 $42.95
256/128 1.5/256 3/384 6/512

New, limited
time offer

Which sadly matches this PR.

quote:
AT&T offers a wide range of broadband products and services in the Southeast including:

FastAccess DSL Lite (up to 768 Kbps downstream; up to 128 Kbps upstream) — $19.95/month.
FastAccess DSL Ultra (up to 1.5 Mbps downstream; up to 256 Kbps upstream) — $32.95/month
FastAccess Xtreme (up to 3.0 Mbps downstream; up to 384 Kbps upstream) — $37.95/month
FastAccess Xtreme 6.0 (up to 6.0 Mbps downstream; up to 512 Kbps upstream) — $42.95/month

AT&T's Michael Coe says it's available starting today across their 22-state footprint. The only thing I can think of is that they think they'll offer it, but not tell anybody, in order to kind of play footsie with the agreed to merger condition....
