I have two 500 mhz machines im thinking about running them as music servers for now. 99 % of the feed off the server will be to a xbox 360.
What linux os would you install plus a music server software that i could use to stream the music to the 360?
I havnt played with linux in ages now it s atime to get back into it think.
thx everyone. |

| Looks like M$ has ensured the xbox 360 media stuff only plays nice with Winblows Media Center. Check this out:

| reply to hayabusa3303 Found this on my first Googling:
GeeXboX uShare
uShare is a UPnP A/V Media Server
quote: ChangeLog of uShare version 0.9.9 :
support for XboX 360 is finally working (please note that to stream video to the XboX, the console should be running dashboard version 2.0.4552.0 and only unprotected .wmv files are supported
Might be what you'd need. IDK myself, I don't own any consoles.
Oh, Here is the search I used in case it's useful.

| Keep an eye on »mediatomb.cc - xbox support is in the works. It's a really nice upnp server.
I got it up and running on a fedora core 6 virtual machine in no time at all. -- My place : »www.schettino.us |
