I am tired of KathrynV posting about muni wi-fi! That may be all she cares about, but (I hope) us DSLRers would like to hear about more than just that! Jeesh, when Karl was on vacation, that was ALL we heard about! Muni wi-fi in this city, muni wi-fi in that city. A LOT of cities are doing this, and we have heard about it all before, thus it is NOT NEWS, and should NOT be posted in the NEWS column!
We shouldn't be hearing about this subject unless there is new groundbreaking technology introduced or maybe a successful deployment (as opposed to all the "it's been deployed but it sucks" stories we hear about); in other words, unless there is NEW NEWS on the subject.
Posting the same article every day about a different city is NOT NEWS.

Sure, it's a Good Thing that there's muni wifi coming up, but do we REALLY have to hear about it for 1000+ Cities? - Can't we have a map like the FiOS one that people can refer to if they want to know where muni Wifi is implemented?

I think I pissed off Karl when I said that all these Sprint articles about deployment of EV-DO Rev.A are not necessary and a few minutes later someone pulls the article from the site.
My major guess is that there is not much to report about broadband. I always wanted to see interviews with the CEOs of all these broadband companies as a means to question these businesses who promise us all these great and wonderful things.

I'll talk to her, though it looks like she's already heard your complaints: of the twelve articles posted last weekend only one that I can see was about municipal wireless deployment.
Keep in mind this is weekend coverage and new story pickings that haven't already been addressed during the week are usually slim. Users as always can help out by submitting interesting links.

It is kind of a nice touch they have the direct forum but I think that's just about the only thing nice about them. So why haven't you sold them out yet? chicken or not? I noticed when I pulled up their front page people been waiting for a response (unreplied) since the 27th, why haven't you picked up any theories on that yet? Apparently through most of the BS stories I have read here you have about as much credibility as a "national enquirer" reporter. Glad to see you strive to be the rule not the exception. Paparatzi would make you, look good.
Cannot really have at&t in the UK ya know. If you really must know what my ISP is here is what your site says "Bredbands Bolaget" I will let you figure it out. Then again you are good at being the rule, not the exception so I don't think you will figure out much short of "theories" and explanations will you?
Try real reporting... you might start looking better. Apparently through some stuff I read here most people don't pay attention to the front page any more. I can only imagine to know why. |
