1 edit | reply to EGeezer Hurricane Wilma South Florida In The Days After
The aftermath of Hurricane Wilma 10/24/05 and after.
After Wilma passed over South Florida I as most utility workers where sent out to do damage estimates and begin restoral work as much as practical, during my travels I was able to get a few shots of the damage left behind and some of the restoral work in progress.
The photographs are rather self explanatory. -- If you cannot fix it with a buttset and some beanies you're not a technician. |

This is real early for this part of the country, as it's been 15-18 degrees below normal the past couple of weeks. |

| reply to EGeezer This is a little old but seeing it was a once in a lifetime occurence I thought I would slip it in here.
This was taken in Freeport, Tx.(which is about 60 miles due south of Houston) on 12-25-04. Over the fence about two miles is the Gulf Of Mexico.
The bottom horizontial board on the fence is 14" from the ground.
We went to bed at about 8:30PM xmas eve night, not knowing it had started snowing, and woke up at 4:30AM to this image. |

Storm 15 Miles South | Hail Dropped From Same Storm |
These photos aren't nearly as cool as ones already posted by you guys, but I liked them nevertheless. The first picture is of a severe thunderstorm about 15 miles south of my location heading straight for me. The second is of the hail the thunderstorm dropped. |

I didn't take the pic. It was sent to me by a friend, but I thought it was pretty interesting to say the least. Not often can you see a tornado backlit like that.
OK TX, was going to question anything like that could happen in OH...
But SERIOUSLY this is REAL??? No PS, etc.... an awsome shot (and I rarely use that word)... never sent it to news?
EDIT OOPS rereading now I see NOT yours... and honestly in KW have captured some amazing things, but I have a REAL hard time no thinking that is at least a composite shot
Though CNN is into the freebie IReporter stuff these days that is one likely they would PAY them for... maybe not now but then, again if some eye witness said they saw it too... just looks too perfect though. Nature is rarely that neat.
Relooking again and sad for them if it is... but that JUST CAN'T be real, its just TOO perfect... they should have dirtiedy it up some. -- »haywardm.com (Hayward's Key West)

| reply to EGeezer Taken May 7th near Silvergate Montana, the northern Rockies are still getting snow, just returned from 10 days there and snow during six of them.
I have never seen so much snow so late in the season and it shows in the ungulates in the region, they have either not migrated or the ones that have look very thin
This area had over 100" of snowfall in March alone -- My Photo Gallery

| reply to Axilla Apparently the tornado/lightning photo (no oil rig though) was taken at Lake Okeechobee about 10 PM on June 15, 1991. See NWS Melbourne FL's archived page, Snopes and here for references.
It is a beautiful photo, though, and we might not have known about the "real" one had the photoshopped version not been posted. -- Mayors of New York come from nowhere and go nowhere. Wallace Sayre (apparently, so do governors... ) |
