Ahh, I think Maggie may actually be Mr. Maggie... EDIT: Non neutered males start spraying at a certain point to mark their territory. Ladies don't behave like that. Maggie is indeed female, maybe one could argue "not a lady". And yes, I have seen females mark their territory, standing up and spraying.
Years ago, Phred, a female Manx, regularly marked her outdoors territory. She was a lady, because she kept it outdoors.
Phred and Maggie both were rescues from an uncertain life in the wild. Some behaviors, once learned, are difficult to suppress. They were both neutered after the rescue.
Yes, the owner has litter box issues, and just a little, little bit of a tendency to collect strays. She has 10 indoors (it is a big house, and they tend to not compete too much). At least she recognizes there isn't room for an 11th.
Maggie is really very sweet, and would definitely have a home with me, except I don't want her to get into a pissing contest with my own indoors grey Mouser.
I agree that 90% isopropyl would have been my first choice, but I didn't have it on hand. 70% seemed to work, but I'll put a small amount of 90% on my shopping list. |
