Doesnt the cablecompanies have this already? I know cablevision does. So why is everybody so happy about this.

ITs just verizon trying to offer what the competition is.

I don't know about other cable companies but Comcasts HD VOD offering is pretty poor. I think they do that to force people to get or keep the HD DVR. They also have are pretty crappy about labeling shows right in the guide. I can't tell you how many times I have taped one thing and got something completely different. I think the only thing I have found in HD VOD are PPV movies. So...they want you to pay extra for the DVR(required by Comcast for HD) and pay an extra fee for HD content and they want you to PPV for your HD VOD. Give me a break!!!

HD over copper is a joke, HD over uncompressed fiber is something i have yet to see, when i get FIOS TV in the next year or so i'm going to find out, and then have a more balanced observation. I have comcrap right now sadly.

As for Comcast HD-VOD. If you have all the premiums then you have a ton of HD content on VOD. The only shortfall that I see is in the HBO area, there you can only get the Sopranos in HD. Starz and Showtime's offerings are great.

Also, you may need a new DVR box. I have no problems with getting the wrong thing, just the fact that HD content takes up so much room, I need a 3450 (or whatever a 500 GB Moto box would be).

Oh you need every channel? Oh I guess having them all unlocks some extra content. Well I have everything but Starz. So I guess I am SOL.

Nah even the network TV in HD selection is pretty poor. CBS in SD VOD has all their hits but CBS in HD VOD all you get is CSI.

No I don't need a new box. Comcast has always had the guide problem it is just more frequent on their HD channels.
