Exception or not?

Is there really a need for an exception here? Can't ATT just say that YouTube is "content formatted in accordance with AT&T's wireless content standards..."?

Of course, that might mean that they would have to allow YouTube to stream to all ATT wireless data subscribers, regardless of the device they are using....

·AT&T DSL Service

Someone where else in the EULA there's probably legalese that says something like this.... "Unless we say it's O.K."

And in this case it would be "It's ok for our partners to do this because they pay us, but everyone else can take a hike."

IE, Basically, they are telling you (again) where and how and when you can use your service and what content you can and can not access.

Because its there network (they own it, every part of it). That is the BEST thing about the internet is that everyone owns there network but with the agreement to share information to better everyone. I love the internet, one of the smartest things human kind has ever done. I just hope that corporations dont mess it up with there pocket books. If you want to see what the internet would be like if the ISP controlled it, just look at the wireless companies (network). BBOOOOO wireless comps, but like everyone I still have to pay them for my cell phone.

Unfortunately, they are trying very hard to mess it up and screw up the future, IMHO.

Here is a novel idea. DO NOT PAY FOR IT!! you don't HAVE to do anything.

Now if you require mobile communications you can a) build your own network or b) use one of the ones someone else (you know the guy behind the big curtain) built and only charges you around $70 bucks a month to use.

Are you that guy that keeps the same fast food beverage cup and expects the get a free refill everyday?

The want to make deals with content

LOL, no...btw who is that guy. Does Florida have many of these men?? No one said they are paying for it, the entire point of this article is the exact reason i dont get the data plans from wireless carriers. The carriers want to push there content on YOU. The ISP signs agreement with content provider and both are swimming in dough, while the consumer gets a great choice of telco content or telco content. Dont even think of doing something kool with that service...awww its just a joke to me.

Re: Exception or not?

i wonder what they mean by games though when they say you cant use them over the connection. i mean would someone playing WoW really tax the network that much....
