said by dadkins :Then the TV Networks are going to have to seriously work on the content! None of the "PrimeTime" shows are worth a damn! I agree with that. 70% of the shows on primetime are now those mindless, cheap to make, reality shows aimed at the truly brainless masses. -- -- Internet News My BLOG My Web Page |

| the mid to late 80's and early 90's had the best shows IMHO I was born in 1984 so people might say other but from what I can remember those were the best years in tv.. Now it's not really worth watching.. I just stick to my History Channel and discovery and news channels. |

| reply to TKJunkMail Oh my god. This is the first time I've seen anything from you, that I didn't think was pointless, pro-corporate drivel.
Though, I'd say closer to 80%. I have.. 4 shows that I watch. And 3 are now off-season. So, no BSG, Smallville, Heroes, or even SG:Atlantis until later this year/early next year.. and only 2 episodes left of Doctor Who.
But, I already pay for cable. I don't watch anything else, so they make more than enough money off that bit, to make up for my "bandwidth abuse" of those few shows.
I hope the idea of high quality, on-demand internet TV does well, though. Even if I have to queue up a few shows to download before I can watch them, it's still better than having to sit through, say.. a 7 month mid-season break. And yes, I'd even be willing to sit through commercials, in that circumstance. |

While he may tend to justify (by which I mean often cite the bujeezus out of it) why the evil corporations are say, strangling kittens, it doesn't mean he's doing it too. He just tells you why and how it's a good idea/business model for the said individual/corporate entity to strangle said kittens.
I usually don't like reading it either, but it usually is what it is. Besides, all points of debate need two sides, and at least what he says is seemingly intelligent, rather than just propagating a flame war.
So be thankful we have more users like that, than simply anon trolls or whoever. I could say the same thing about a handful of users I see frequent DSLR. It's an objective view people...there's always two sides!
And I'm not flaming you AnonShawUser , since you were really just commenting, just a friendly reply |

Some were over the top cheezy, mind you, but I still think The Love Boat/Fantasy Island may have been the best back to back shows.
Starsky and Hutch...SWAT...Battlestar Galactica...Emergency!....MASH...Mary Tyler Moore....Bob Newhart...Fat Albert...What's Happening!!!...Sanford and Son...The Jeffersons...All In The Family...Maude...and all of the 70's Saturday Morning Cartoons and live action shows (i.e. Sid and Marty Kroft). WHAT AN ERA! |
