Terrain? If so, I'll bet that some time in the not-too-distant past, your community had a perfectly good CATV system to deliver OTA TV to your home.
Although you're certainly in the deep-fringe area for terrestrial broadcast TV reception, you should still be able to get a viewable signal from Buffalo, using a deep-fringe antenna mounted atop a sufficiently tall mast.
You'll probably have better luck getting 480i ATSC than analog at a decent S/N ratio. For analog reception, you need at least 40 dB of S/N, but digital works just fine at S/N ratios as low as 6 dB. So stick an RF preamp up on the antenna and add an antenna rotator, and you might be able to get Cleveland and Pittsburgh. |
