Neglecting duties yet again....
I was sitting here today wandering around DSLR and I realized that I, yet again, have not been posting here. Shame on me. What do I think I have... a life?
So.. here goes.
Today at work I was typing a patients chart (name and other info not available per HIPAA ) when I couldn't believe my ears. This female patient claims that she (get this) "ACCIDENTLY" used cocaine. How the hell do you accidently use cocaine? Let me guess... she was running across the room and happened to trip face first onto a big ol pile of the white stuff. Then, because she had fallen and couldn't get up, she had to breathe so she sniffed it right up! LMAO!!
Oh the stories you hear at work. | posted Wednesday October 10th, @01:06PM

Has it really been this long?
Wow. It seems that I have been neglecting to talk to myself lately. Last post September 14th! It's already October 1st. I must have been mad at myself for something or I just didn't feel much like chatting. (Ok, so those that know me KNOW that one's not right!)

It's a rather normal day in the neighborhood. Sky is blue. Grass is green. Leaves are changing colors. Old man across the street is getting new carpeting. Other neighbor is finally get some work done on his "Sun room" that was supposed to be done in 5 days in July. Mental Note Write down that companies name, and never, ever use them.
I was watching Curb your Enthusiasm today and just about laughed my ass off. It's rather funny to me because in this particular episode, Larry David has to go see an ENT. The name of the ENT is the name of the doctor that I work for. Coincidence? Hardly. The doctors son helps on the show so that whole 6 degrees of separation thing is more like 3 for a lot of those famous people. I had to laugh because the Dr. was asking Larry how often he goes to the bathroom and Larry replies how he doesn't see how that is relevant to his ear problem. Which is ALWAYS what the patients say when they come in and see us. The Dr. I work for is an ENT (ears, nose and throat) doctor. For those of you that don't know this.. it's all connected. You can have an earache because your throat is infected and vice versa. Well... some patients come in and say things like "I'm only here for my ear, why do you want to know about me nose?" Maybe because if your nose is draining it is possible that it is draining into your ear. No, actually we just put all those questions on that paper because we LOVE to just ask them.
So, that was my Monday. How was yours? | posted Monday October 1st, @11:50PM

I've caught a bug.
It appears that I have caught a bug. No, not the cute and fuzzy bugs that you want to hug and squeeze and call "George", but the nasty, yucky, coughing, sneezing and sniffling bugs that you try to kill with lots of meds.
At first I thought, indigestion. Then I thought sinuses. Kinda think a cold now. Although today has been a pretty decent day. Yesterday was the killer. Stayed in bed all day (alone, so no - it wasn't much fun!)
It all started Monday night so hopefully it has run it's course and on its way out. Plus, I think I took the green pills this morning instead of the orange pills. Bummer. I was tired all morning long.
But don't worry, I was extra careful while operating heavy machinery! | posted Friday September 14th, @05:26PM

To quote another "It's now official"
So hubby and I FINALLY decided on a vehicle. We purchased (in my name, 'cuz it was my B-Day) a 2007 Equinox AWD!! It is pretty nice if I do say so myself. Silverstone Metallic is the color and it has a "dark" grey interior, but to me it's more like a medium/light grey. Very nice.
So yes, I am officially now a "Soccer Mom". BUT (and it's a big ol but ) I did not put a soccer magnet on the back of the SUV. On a down side though, there is a soccer ball in the back along with one of those fold out chairs in a bag things.
Daughter really likes it because she has loads of room in the back seat now. She sits higher so she can see more out the front. (So far she hasn't complained of being "dizzy" while in it) so that's a plus!! | posted Saturday September 8th, @08:09PM

What's with the margins??
WTH!?!?
My journal looked much, MUCH better with the margins over to the left and not the right.
EDIT: Apparently it is just my margins.
Great. Well, since this is all about me and everything, I'll keep my comment about the margins until they magically go back to normal. | posted Thursday September 6th, @09:20PM

Soccer update
So mini me LOVES soccer (and she looks so darn cute in her little uniform! )
Her team name is "Bulldogs" (appropriate since she is in the Lakeview Bulldogs school system) and they have played 2 actual games and 1 scrimmage.
Results:
Scrimmage game: Other Team 1, Bulldogs 1 (TIE) Actual game #1: Other Team 0, Bulldogs 1 (WON) Actual game #2: Other Team 0, Bulldogs 4 (WON) Actual game #3: Other Team 0, Bulldogs 1 (WON) Actual game #4: Other Team 0, Bulldogs 2 (WON) Actual game #5: Other Team 1, Bulldogs 0 (LOST) Actual game #6: Other Team 0, Bulldogs 3 (WON) Actual game #7: Other Team 0, Bulldogs 4 (WON) ** Got the soccer pictures back today. They are so cute. Mini me looks so grown up. ::sniff, sniff:: ** Actual game #8: Other Team 0, Bulldogs 0 (TIE) Actual game #9: Other Team 2, Bulldogs 0 (LOST)
Needless to say, she is very excited about this.
Now, I knew nothing (nada, zip, zero) about soccer before her playing and I had no idea it was such a contact sport. So far, 1 little boy flipped over and it looked as though his little neck was going to break. He cried for about 2 minutes and then was back up and in the game. Another boy got smacked right in the face with a ball that was just kicked. He looked shocked, looked around, and then went after the ball and tried to score. THESE BOYS ARE TROOPERS!
Then there is my little one. I am so proud of her. She was never really into sports until this year. She loves the independent, non-contact things like dance (tap, jazz, ballet and gymnastics) so for her and soccer, she is learning all about the whole contact sport thing.
I am glad she likes it though. She is improving with every practice and game and that is all any parent could ever ask for. I am glad that she is not the only first timer on the team though. Seems like a lot of the kids on her team have played for 2 maybe 3 years (plus indoor leagues - just found that out last night!).
No more games until September 5 and then we have Ballet starting and soccer on the same night. Oh boy, this'll be fun.

Computer 3, Me 4
So my computer hates me. Not just dislikes terribly, I mean really hates me. It has done some really bizarre things in the past year and this time it decided to take IE6 with it.
Bastard - it killed IE6! (Computer 1, Me 0)
Secret weapon time. I had downloaded FF awhile back. (Computer 1, Me 1)
Bastard - it killed my FF! (Computer 2, Me 1)
Ultimately, I did the unthinkable. I picked up the computer and threw it out the 3rd story window. I reformatted. (Computer 2, Me 2) Then reinstalled XP.
Then the computer decided NOT to recognize the nice little black box with blinking green lights on it. Some people call it a MODEM, but I prefer the term "hooker upper thingy." (Computer 3, Me 2)
So I call my service provider here on out known as the provider which shall remain nameless (or PWSRN for short). I am on the dang phone for over an hour and a half and not one single person there can tell me what to try to do. Aren't these people supposed to know that?? Isn't that their jobs???
Monday evening... Heck with it. How much more damage can I do, really? So I go into little places of the computer that I didn't know existed. The secret places. The hidden places. What do I find? My hooker upper thingy!! I got the computer to recognize the hooker upper thingy again. (Computer 3, Me 3)
Tie game. I need to pull ahead. I go in for the kill. I download a Firewall and then download an Antivirus. WHAMMO! I'm back online.
Final Score: Computer 3, Me 4

Soccer starts tonight
Well, it's hotter than hell today and my little "mini me" starts soccer tonight. She is extremely excited. We went out yesterday and bought her shoes and a soccer ball (#4). We had already picked up the shin guards a couple months back.
She modeled her new items last night along with an outfit (but of course, we had to get a new outfit to go with new shoes - DUH!) and even went on over to Grandpa and Grandma's to model over there as well.
We came home and she had me nicely fold the clothes and put them out on the couch so her daddy could see them when he came home from work. (Daddy works afternoon turn - 2 PM to 1 AM)
92 degrees outside right now (I just overheard a patient tell another patient). Damn that's hot! (And probably humid, this is Ohio after all. Nothing like that "dry heat.")
I will be leaving here and going to get mini me and getting her ready for her first soccer practice. She is supposed to have practice every Monday and Wednesday, but next week she has dance all that week so we may miss 1 practice (not both though).
I'll have to see how the little princess does in all the heat. Packing plenty of fluids for her. Just grateful that it is only an hour long practice and she can always jump in the pool afterwards if she feels like it. =) | posted Wednesday August 1st, @04:17PM

The ever changing avatar...
So today I was feeling kinda bored with my avatar. I added a total of 4 more. I liked the one, but she kinda reminds me of someone elses avatar on here, so I may not use her. The other girl I uploaded, I think after having her up a little bit, she changes screens a little too fast. So I decided to stick with this one. I call her "Natasha". She just reminds me of a Natasha.
Don't get me wrong, I love my little sassy kitty and all, but it's like with furniture. I get bored and have to change. I will probably change back to the kitty in a bit, but for now Natasha will stay.
She does look a little evil, but I think that is why I like her. tee hee | posted Thursday July 19th, @10:35PM

Cars...
Trying to decide on what car I'd like to buy. My husband and I can't seem to agree on a car long enough to go get one.
He'd like a Mustang. Not enough leg room in the backseat for our daughter. He'd like a Charger. Not economical. He'd like a Truck. I can't remember which one at the moment, but NO.
We both kinda agreed on the HHR, but that was only for about a couple months. Then I started to not really like them again.
We looked at the VUE's, but up close and personal - wasn't real impressed.
I like the Equinox. I've liked those for almost a year now. I think I finally have the husband talked into one. Maybe by fall. I know better not to push the issue, but I would still like to have a new vehicle by winter at the latest. | posted Tuesday July 17th, @10:53PM

Cleaning...
I have just now gotten a chance to actually get some cleaning done since I've returned from vacation. My family HATES me when I clean. I have possibly a little touch of OCD and when I clean everything, and I mean everything, has to be in its place properly. If I have just dusted an end table and put the lamp precisely where I want it and the remotes all lined up - don't even think about coming in and setting your soda down on the table. Not to mention leaving the dang thing there and not picking it up.
Well, today there I am cleaning the family room (dusting, rearranging, etc) and my daughter keeps bringing out these little toys to play with. I kept turning around and telling her to please take them back to her room. Then the damn cats started pulling out their toys. It was a damn conspiracy, I tell you.
I decided it was best to come in here and get on the computer and take a little break before continuing. I may just rip out all my hair over this.
My daughter was cute though, she came in and asked if there was anything that she could help me with. (Wasn't that nice of her? Her grandmother had a talk with her about being nice. Her and I got into a little tiff the other day because I asked her to do something and she told me "NO". That didn't go over very well with me. Needless to say, she's been an absolute angel now for the past couple days!)
Alright - back to my cleaning I suppose. The child is in her room now playing and I heard the monster cats do down the basement stairs. I may be safe to vacuum now!! LMAO! | posted Thursday July 12th, @02:32PM

Dance class
I took my daughter to dance tonight. We got to watch the last 10 minutes of the class before hers. The class with the little 2-3-4 year-olds in it. They were so adorable. Watching them try to do their forward rolls was just precious. Their little butts would get stuck up in the air! It was too cute.
When they were done, my daughters class goes in. She loves to dance. Actually, that was how I got her potty trained. She used to watch "The Best of Elmo" and Elmo would do this little tap dance. She loved to watch that. She told me that she wanted to dance. I told her that she couldn't take dance lessons until she was potty trained. Guess what? The little shit understood that one all too well. She was potty trained within a week or two of me telling her that! Then I had to scramble to find her a dance studio. She is in a class with about 9 other girls. Mostly between the ages of 5-7 (There is a little girl in there that is about 9). Anyways... I'm sitting there watching her dance and they do all these moves like shaking thier butts. Some little girls are very shy about that. They just kinda stand there and wiggle once or twice. Some even stand there and kinda move one leg only. But not my daughter!! Oh no, she gets into it. She shakes her little butt like she might even break the damn thing. She watched herself in the big mirror in her classroom and tries to add facial expression while doing this.
Now mind you, the other little girls are just trying to look at the teacher and make an attempt to actually do the steps correctly.
My daughter is acting like she is auditioning for a Las Vegas show! Scary!!
I like that she likes to dance and enjoys it. But I'm not so sure I like her liking to shake her butt around and show facial expressions.
I suppose I'll worry more when she's older and doing this. Maybe, just maybe, it's a phase and she'll grow out of it or something.

Let's focus on me now, shall we?
So it's way past my bedtime and I find myself roaming the halls of DSLR. I come across the journals and think to myself, "self, why not?!"
So here I am.
I'm tired, but I can't sleep. I actually tried to lie down a couple hours ago with no luck. So then I got up and decided to cruise around DSLR for awhile.
I like "lurking" in the forums where I know nothing. The language is completely foreign to me and I keep thinking that maybe, just maybe, some of it may rub off onto me. That has yet to happen. I know how to turn the computer on and get online. I can uninstall and reinstall my firewall and antivirus now blindfolded. Oh, and I added memory all by my itty bitty self without frying the computer! Go me!!
I may be exaggerating just a tad. I have learned a few other things while on DSLR. By accident, of course. Why would I want to clutter my poor little brain with knowledge anyway?
I should get to bed now. Tomorrow is the first day of my summer vacation (whoo hoo)!! Maybe I will actually get to go swimming if it doesn't storm.
Thanks for focusing on me. We'll have to do this again sometime. | posted Thursday June 28th, @12:31AM
