Deploy costs are the only thing to consider. Ongoing maintenance and capacity also must be weighted. It's not an immediate return on the investment, but go out 10, 20, or 30 years and Verizon is betting that there will be.

The cost is still dominated by the labor costs and not the materials. |

Well it might seem to some of us that they have no clue how to maintain the fiber once they install it.
FTTH, IF you build it, they will come.
But when it breaks, and it takes more than 40 days to fix it, they will leave ! |
