What to do with my pc?

I guess I'm looking for tips/advice on what to do with my pc. I recently have moved from desktops to notebooks as my main source of computing. So I have a desktop (specs below) that I have not used for at least 6 months. It is a beast and when turned on sounds like a jet engine.
I don't know what I would get for it if I sold it.
So what would you do with it?

if i were you, i would give it to me.

my address is.................

in all seriousness, you could probably sell it for something worthwhile, or be the nice guy, and donate it to a school that teaches CAD and write it off..... i'm sure that any number of people would take it off your hands if you're looking to get rid of it, and i'm also sure, if you put in a little effort, you could sell it, like i said, for a worthwhile amount of $.

Man! I'd buy it off you and make it a Team Discovery and Team Helix Cruncher/Folder, if I could...

Vukodlak75: Have you ever considered joining those teams and helping to find cures to cancer, childhood diseases, and other terrible maladies? If you join those clubs you will meet some of the nicest people on DSLR!!! Why not join?

I'd gladly take that system off your hands myself, too! That is a nice box! One could do some serious serving, science, and/or CAD on that box!

I guess I could take it to the shop and hook it up to the DSL line and let it run 24/7
I'll take that into consideration, thanks for the tip.

Are those CPUs multi core? If they are, you could even run four different projects! Let me personally invite you to our groups!!! We'd LOVE to have you join!!!

Ah! Well, that is still two projects, you could run one crunch and one fold! Go to the team forums here and talk to our members to learn more:

»Team Helix

»Team Discovery

If you join you will feel very good about it and make some awesome new friends. Hope to see you there!

You have some good shit in that rig and that is worth something (my quess is $500.00 as is). To sell it, you have to make it presentable, that is, get rid of the noise/dust/scratches etc.... May also remove the RAID and reload the OS as single drive so that you can have a few HDs for spare for yourself and still sell it for about $500.00.

Now, for the noise, you have to determine the source, most likely, from PSU, CPU colling fan, chipset fan, those can be fixed for less than $50.00. So, donate it as is and make yourself feel good or fix it up and sell it here. I am sure someone will buy it.

I used to be indecisive, now I am not sure.
