Re: USR8054 not working at all!! I left it running for half an hour, while not hooked up to the computer nor the dsl modem. The power light is solid green, STATUS light is still dead, WAN, LAN ports 1,2,3,4 flash once every 10 seconds now, so I hooked up my laptop to it. The WAN, LAN ports lights flash once, then go OFF, then LAN port 1 only goes green for couple seconds, and I can see my computer is trying to connect to it, then the lights go OFF again, then all lights srat flashing... etc. | |
| The 8054 is in a "firmware" reset mode. Try setting a static ip address to your laptop, and then getting into the router that way.
Eg: Set laptop to 192.168.1.3
Once you do this, then open up your browser and go to 192.168.1.1 and you should be prompted with a firmware upgrade page. So simply download the firmware for the 8054 and install the firmware through this page. That should fix it.
If this does not fix the problem, I am pretty sure there is a special sequence to reset the 8054 to get it out of this mode. I would write an email to USR and ask them that question. Ask them to ask tier2, but chances are likely they wont talk to you as you will be out of warranty.
