linicx posted : Vonage sucks because:
1. When my Vonage telephony device died they told me for three months before I canncelled my account that the problem is latency to avoid replacing it. Why didn't they tell me to buy a new device?

2. It took four- count 'em, FOUR - @#$@# phone calls ( the last one lasted 45 minutes) to cancel my account.

3. They don't know how to send MS.docs in email. I have MS Office on two machines and couldn't open any of the so-called response letters.

4. The Philipino phone support can't speak English, can't answer basic questions about serrvice. amd they don't know a thing about the US area codes. They sound like chattering magpiesl it makes my brain tired.

5. The only place Vonage seems to work is in large Metropolitan areas. They need to stay our of rural America if they can't offer a usable product.
--
Mac: No windows, No gates, Apple inside

Previously you said that your friend just (as in "only recently") got an e-mail from Vonage. Now you're claiming that Vonage has been spamming them constantly for three years? And you just happened o pick now to start complaining? No dice.

You might want to get your story straight first...

Vonage (and all other VoIP companies) are fighting for their very existence after Verizon sued Vonage over a couple of dubious patents that it holds. (Things like finding someone's phone number by searching for their e-mail address have been standard functions of PIM software since before Verizon ever existed. How is that patentable?) If Verizon prevails, the Verizon v. Vonage precedent will give all three of the reconstituted RBOCs the legal ability to keep VoIP businesses out of America. And then they can party like it's 1967.

Care to rent a Princess® phone for $15/mo.?

shealyse posted : Ok, so I was a Vonage customer for a few months THREE YEARS AGO and referred some people at that time. I was floored when one of those individuals (a coworker) said, "Are you still using Vonage because I just got a referral email with your name on it." on 6/21/2007.

Vonage should not be using referrals from their former customers (active customers maybe, but certainly not from people who are not using the service)! I certainly WOULD NOT recommend Vonage.

I have been a happy VoicePulse customer since dumping Vonage. In fact, the person who received the Vonage SPAM is also a VP customer!!!

I wonder if one of these referrals should actually sign up if they would send me the $50 AmEx prepaid card that is stated in the SPAM? They still have my current mailing address because I do get junk snail mail asking me to come back.

Obviously Vonage is getting desperate for customers.
