It should be interesting...

Watching all of the Comcast subscribers blowing through the invisi-cap in a matter of hours, instead of days... Will definitely make for good entertainment.

Either way, with the capability of speeds like that, it will definitely be interesting to see Verizon and Comcast duking it out.

I doubt it. Moving to 3.0 will likely alleviate the congestion in the areas that send out the letters. I have never gotten "The Letter", nor anyone I know, so it must only be certain areas.

Here
I don't see how it'll alleviate congestion when they all still go back to the same node. I know they'll be upping bandwidth but you'll still have to deal with the same backbone.

It all depends on where the bottleneck is.

For 95% of users it will make absolutely no difference. Browsing speeds don't even approach the current 6600 kbps speeds right now. And very few are watching movies online and downloading massive amounts of video. For them it only means downloading a short YouTube video or a Microsoft Windows update will download faster. Or an email with some pics will arrive quicker.

It sounds like they must have kicked you off for usage. I am so glad they did. Nothing is as fun as a person like you dwelling on the fact that they screwed themselves out of internet. Sorry the false pretense was "Unlimited" but I think you know as well as I do that it has been an ongoing problem for a select few. Me, I could use the bandwidth, and I don't think a usage pattern like mine would impose any restrictions/caps...

1. Not a Comcast user...
2. Never been a Comcast user...
3. My usage never even comes close to approaching that of the people who get the letters.
4. I stand by my original point... You give people more speed and you can bet the farm that those who were blowing through the invisi-caps are going to do it even faster and it will make for an interesting show when they all start complaining again.

4a. Watch the Comcast CSRs come running to defend the company's antics and blame the customer. Again.
