Um, bushes or trees blocking views of your home still hurt value and curb appeal.

Also, remember the rules, in many cases you cannot place fencing or bushes and shrubs within 6ft of these boxes on any side to facilitate access, repairs, replacement. Easement rules.

So a "relatively small" area of say 15 ft squared means you have to plant bushes around them of an area of 28ft squared. That's a big chunk of yard to lose. Plus, it can block views and make getting out of a driveway more dangerous.... but hey, nobody minds as long as it's the OTHER guy and not on their property...

These utility easements have always existed, people should be aware that something like this should happen. These are usually only 10 to 15 ft in from the road or sidewalk.

I would have one of these in my yard if it meant I can get faster DSL speeds above 1.5Mbps. I don't mind planting trees/bushes, as I do not want my house to be 100% viewable from the street. Values mean different things to different people.

True. I wouldn't really mind the boxen either, as long as their was some dialog and we agreed on where to place them on the yard. But if they didn't ask and just dropped them in the wrong spot, that would suck. Also, I'm not opposed to using landscaping or fencing if required, again tho there should be dialog as to where it goes.

Yep I agree, if they gave the home owner a few choices of where they would like these boxes installed, it would stop a lot of problems, instead of just turning up and doing as they please.

Yeah, but this is the same company that came into the Milwaukee area and started installing, local people be damned, under the guise that they aren't subject to laws governing "cable companies"...

Yup... and that's the problem.
