Re: Sigh...

I never understood qwest's ad, broadband speed can be measured and ranked. So why do I need actors telling me, I took the test and felt qwest was faster.

Re: Sigh...

Because dsl isnt shared like cable so you dont get the big slow downs with dsl. I had comcast i was tired of weekend slow downs and the afterwork slow downs. late at nights where the best times.

Both are shared. They just differ in where the sharing occurs. With DSL you start sharing at the Central Office/Exchange [CO] (where your connection is commingled with all those who use your CO to get out to the Internet). With Cable, you start to share somewhere between you and the head-end (the Cable equivalent of the CO).

All connections share at some point. Cable, DSL, Wireless, T1, DS3, and beyond.

Re: Sigh...

No actually you do. You are not on the same piece of copper between you and your nearest dslam but once you hit that DSLAM you are sharing. That circuit from the DSLAM to the ATM Switch can be saturated just like cable can become saturated.
