 | Mobile Broadband Sprint has mobile broadband/EVDO in Shutesbury and Leverett.
Mobile broadband is the way to go if 1-2Mbps is good enough for you. When WiMAX comes, wired broadband will be so last century, except for those who want high bandwidth.
I dumped my cable modem earlier this year for EVDO. |

There's one grocery/co-op store off of a treacherous mountain dirt road, where you have to pull over for opposite traffic. The Post-office, town-hall, crafts store, and church all share the same building in the "town center".
They're partly to blame for no Comcast though, as I believe they kept them out like 10 years ago. I lived there for a year when I was in college. We were lucky enough to be able to get a dish, although they had to come and install a giant pole in the yard to get it to work. We had no internet, because I refused to use dial-up at the time. Properly placed access points could blanket the area, providing service to virtually the entire area. -- A is A |

You know, this is being done in many places in the U.S. that have more trees than this. -- A is A |

Ahrenl join:2004-10-26 North Andover, MA | Yes, but for 1,663 people? I mean, just in your diagram you have 5 towers, all of which would have to have access roads built. How much would that cost? I've climbed to the top of a number of those hills, they're very wide at the top, so placing a tower in the middle would not cover the valleys (where everyone lives, and where the road(s) is/are. I'm sure it CAN be done, but how many centuries would it take to recoup that investment?

It is circulating at the State government level...
