Re: Seimans modem Screen shots

Just a question really. When I get this modem, do I use it as a router or as a modem out of the box? Meaning, I have a router right now but I think I would just rather use this thing to do both, is there going to be anything that I'm going to have to do to get it work as best as possible?
Oh, and what does "bridged" mean really? I mean, I think I know but I'm not 100% sure.

Thanks peeps!

Simple just plug your second device right in.

It comes to you in a bridged state of mode. If it's not just go in there and bridge it. There is a setting in there for routing functions. You disable it, it's brigded. You are going to have enter your password in there to get to the setting.

No secret this time.... if you don't use the install disk, the password should be

telus

and if you used the install disk, it will set the password to your telus account password....

Considering I'm on linux we both know the password. telus

There are no hidden panels or anything. What you see is what you get........

I made 100% sure of that before I posted any shots. Unless you work for Telus and have access to the port at the C/O there's nothing hidden. No MDC or any interface on the backend.

I just got one of these with like no manuals at all... is there a manual that tells the default login/password to access those pages?

i'm sure it's not a big secret like the mdc? or whatever it's called.

much better...
if you want to get rid of that wizard tab.. run it once and it'll go away unless you do a reset..

Some of the stand out features to me are:

Ability to use DYNDNS has a place to enter your usemane and password

Comes in bridge mode. Allow you access to both your IP's right of the box. (you want routing functions you have to set it up yourself)

Bottom line Not really a modem/router combo but not really a full bridged modem. (can be either or)

Looks promising

Have not yet had a chance to plug it in and try it out performance wise but looks promising

Your going to have to click the link "see full size" in order to view these. They are quite large.

Very interesting looks like Telus learn there lesson from the 2wires
