| [Vista] Multiple Desktop Backgrounds on multiple displays.
Does anyone know if it is possible to have two different wallpapers on two different monitors in vista?? I have two monitors, one a 22" widescreen at 1680x1050 resolution, and the other a 19" at 1280x1024, and i would like to set them up with different wallpapers so as to get something that would look good on both. as it is now, if i get a widescreen wallpaper, it looks good on the widescreen, but it's either cut off or scrunched on the regular, and if i go with a regular background, then it's stretched out on the widescreen... i can't seem to win... anyway, just wondering how i'd do this, even if it's through some sort of crazy third party software...
Thanks in advance. |

| A bit of surfing came up with this:
Multiple monitors attached to a single card - no problem. Multiple monitors attached to multiple cards with the same driver (which normally means the same chip set family) - no problem. Multiple monitors attached to multiple cards with different drivers - no support for Glass.
Here is an interesting article on Vista multiple monitor support: Multi Monitor support in the Vista TS Client
And a multiple monitor fix from Microsoft that may be applicable: Update for Windows Vista (KB933590)
Another article: Multiple monitors with Vista
More could be found with a Google search "Vista" + "multiple monitors" -- Out the 10Base-T, through the router, down the T1, over the leased line, off the bridge, past the firewall...nothing but Net. |

| reply to Jobiwon i did the google search long before i posted and much was explained related to making multiple monitors work, little about making multiple monitors work with 2 different desktop backgrounds. my 2 monitors both work, i just want to know if they can have 2 different wallpapers, if they can't... well, i guess i'll have to live with 1 looking kinda scrunched... |

Version 3 of Ultramon is now Vista compatible. I use it on XP and have two different wallpapers, two task bars (One for each monitor) and I have never tried it but you can even have two different screen savers. $40 and I thought it was worth it when I added a second monitor. -- 3 out of 4 people make up 75% of the population. |
