PPPoE Help

I have an adsl connection and im using win xp.The prob is that the connection gets disconnected after a while and the network connection becomes stuck.Only system restart can make connection normal again....This happens again and again and im told that its a problem with win xp and pppoe and that there is a patch which can fix it...
can anyone tell me where i can find the specific patch or the reqd registry entries...

I haven't had any issues with PPPoE on Windows XP at all. See if the problem persists on a different computer (doesn't have to be Windows XP), so that we can pin-point whether or not if it's the ADSL modem/connection or your computer that is causing the problem.
