You didn't expect him to actually do these things, did you?

No, of course not. But any illusionist who respects his craft would never rely on video editing and fake audiences.

Umm I hate to tell you, but all magicians rely on plants in the audience and, if they do tv, altering the video.

Hahaha damn right chuck! It's an older than dirt trick to use accomplices in the audience.

Not as blatantly as this guy. Tricks like making the statue of liberty disappear are nice illusions even if the audience is in it.

*yawn* Some people have waaaaay too much time on their hands if they have to prove an illusion is faked...... I can imagine the comic book guy from The Simpsons, sitting at his computer, measuring bumper lengths, cloud formations, etc. going on about "Oooh, this is SO fake!"

Yes they would. Because they can. All illusionists rely on "tricks" and always have. The only difference is that this generation of illusionists have more technical options to help them.

I don't see anything wrong with him using whatever techniques he can, since his job is entertainment. I see even less problem with people trying to figure out how magic tricks are done. This was interesting to see, despite it being critical of him.

Ty for the post.

Not as blatantly as this guy.
All those are pretty standard by the book illusions. The only difference is the amount and type of embellishments made to the tricks. Criss Angel is annoying, in the same way that David Blane is annoying, but as far as their tricks they're the same as any other magician are doing just in different dressing.

You may think he's cheap or a bad magician because the tricks seem so stupid once you see how they're done, but that's how they're done everywhere. Hell, you can probably go to the library and find a book that tells you how to do these tricks albeit on a smaller, less shiny scale.

Houdini likes the Mind Freak. I asked him about it at my last seance.

That's good enough for me.

He's a great entertainer. More power to him.

The only illusionist that mattered to me was ---no not David Copperfield--but ofcourse David Blain. The way he executes his illusions is the most outstanding part.
