She apparently didn't spend it on you, so there's still some hope.

I really hope SR finds a way to live long & prosper.

It was amusing reading this thread as it was clear that their model was not sustainable. I was a charter subscriber, I paid $199 for 26 months of service plus received the free phones and free adapter. I left them after 26 mos as they were not reliable enough for me. Maybe someone will buy them out, but as another poster mentioned they would be buying a non paying customer. I wonder what percentage in long run would actually stay and be willing to pay a premium price? I don't think I would want to buy into this model :P

I will be curious as to what SunRocket receives should they be bought in what will obviously be a fire sale.

»Re: SunRocket affiliate program on "hold"

Right now I am guessing that they should receive a gross price between 15 and 20 million out of which they will have to pay both secured and unsecured creditors. A big haircut for the VC's.

Rather than checking availability try checking the Transfer a Number page.

Right now it is reading "Number Transfer service is currently unavailable."

If it is a glitch then transfer would be out as well as acquire a new number.

Also you cannot add a signature number from MP. It says

"Signature Number addition is currently unavailable."

I find it hard to believe but they did this upgrape almost perfect !!

Yes, we know. It still could be a glitch. Though a very bad one. I would think they would put up a message that the system is down for an outage. So it is questionable.

So, the obvious questions are:

1. Should we start looking for another provider now?
2. If so, what's the best alternative?
3. Will we be able to port our current number? If so, will waiting ruin our chances of getting the number ported?

1. I don't think so, not until there's a definite statement that SR is shutting down.
2. Depends on your area. In my area, Comcast degrades Vonage-destined packets, so I'd probably go w/ ViaTalk.
3. No idea.

Cool your jets. You are an asset. The VC's will sell you to the highest bidder, assuming that there is a bidder.

Bottom line is this....will our numbers go dead on us, simple as that.
Maybe we are the Guinna pigs for this scenario

No, because the CLEC's know that if they pull the plug on SunRocket then they will never be paid.

Possible good news, I have gotten a call from a current employee, and it seems that there is a good sign coming on the horizon. It seems that some big investors are ready and that all the rumors here might be all for not.

I would wait to see what official news is put out in the next few days. I am VERY positive though and am not really worried that the service will be cut off.

Lastly, if you think about it, if they cut more staff that makes them even slimmer, and more easily profitable. That then only increases the chances of more and more investors putting money into a lean fast company. So, what is the problem. Until they tell me I got to get out, then I am not gonna worry about it.

I just went through the sign up process, up to the point of pressing the button and it would charge my credit card, and did not get any reject. The system issued me a new SunRocket DID number, just as I would have expected (maybe a bit earlier than I would have expected). False alarm?

Depends on how much the individual CLECs are owed. If not that much each may just be a slight hiccup. If they let the unpaid balance run that up they may deserve it.
Still this may be false. Then again there are no positive posts to disclaim it yet.
Edit,
as to other post I can order again, yea.
