The overall look, want it too look like Adium from Mac OS X in one way or another.

Or at least a system tray that shows my buddy list once I click on it, but integrated into the system tray, not a separate window.

gaim/pidgin is based on gtk, if you skin gtk or download a gtk theme, gaim/pidgin will look different.
