back up (limited testing).

I think they're trying to get our attention or make some headlines.

Ok, back up in western Washington. Not a good time to have an outage (with all that's happened lately).

Back up in Cary, NC.

WHEW... hope the service stays up.

Now, as for all the doom 'n gloom about SR, I'll have to think about who to try next in the VOiP world if this service is gonna tank.

I got the $99 /first year plan and I'm coming up on the end of month #2. Today is the first problem I've had.

Amazingly no one in this thread has yet linked to the "elephant in the room" so just for completeness -- »SunRocket Days are OVER!

If it was me

I'm not a SR customer but if it was me, I think I'd be porting my number today. People should realize that if these rumors are true and this company is going under, that it's just going to get much worse from this point on. Chances are, suppliers, partners, employees and whomever won't be getting paid and this thing is just going to turn into a free for all that will take a LONG time to sort out with whatever remaining people they have..if any.

I want to stress, I know nothing about this situation to say whether these rumors are true but given the layoffs and several postings on this site now from "insiders"..along with these outages, it certainly isn't looking too good.
I certainly wouldn't want to lose my number and can appreciate how people feel about that. While that might wind up not being the case, who's to say how long it all will take to sort out? It can certainly take a while.

The way I see it it's kind of like the titanic. the first people off had no problems getting a lifeboat. The others..hung out too long, wanting to believe everything was going to be ok.

I worked in the banking industry for a long time and saw a lot of companies fold during my tenure. And, in their wake, they can leave a real mess of unresolved issues. Trust me, the employees will be the LAST ones to know about this. The companies usually leave them hanging on till the last minute. Many times, their final checks bounce even and that's how they find out about these things. It's a sad situation, but how it often times goes when a company is going under.

I know, it's a tough call, and people want to believe and hope for the best. But, I think you need to realize that if you do that...AND these rumors are true..you could wind up with both no phone service, no number..(at least for a while)..and no one at SR answering the phones to help you out.

If it were me, I'd be taking the first life boat out and watching it all from a distance I think.

Anyways..good luck to everyone.

I hate replying to anon's but....

I will not port my number. I have decided to stick it out and if it don't work out then I will just have my cell number. No more voip for me and ATT or Charter's not getting more money from me..
