 | Verizon does away with union employees Verizon, Verizon Wireless, & Verizon Business are seperate companies. Verizon wants to get rid of the "Union Jobs" which are the Verizon Res jobs, they want to keep verizon wireless and business because they would not have to pay us union wages or give us 401k, medical, dental, vision, prescription benefits. |

You know this, how? What your saying is that if you don't have a union job that you wouldn't get any benefits? I think it's bull if you ask me. |

Starting to get off topic here, but with a lot of companies like that, no you won't get decent benefits without being union. Don't believe me, what kind of benefits do Wal-Mart, Home Depot and the likes offer? Nothing compared to the benefits those that have unionized in the same field get. And Wal-Mart can't even say they pay better with the cost savings. Face it, 90% of most companies will not give decent benefits unless they feel a pinch for not doing so. |

 | 1 percent.of your weekly pay. Cheaper then the 150 bucks a week that some of these people are paying. |

And not for just benefits, but really good benefits. Major medical $10 (yes dollars, not percent) co-pays, prescription $5-$10 co-pays. Vision and dental are included, but there are some holes in that part of the coverage. Still covers (at no cost) more than what 90% of people will ever need. |
