A bit of advice for everyone who is going to dispute with credit card company. I just got off the phone with MBNA dispute department.
My credit card is offering me 4 months to dispute, and luckily, I am just 3 days short of 4 months So I can dispute my Sunrocket charge so long as they receive my faxed dispute within 3 days.
1) Please email Sunrocket Customer Service email address. You will get an auto response message - print that email. You will require that as proof that you tried to contact Sunrocket prior to filing. 2) Mention in your letter that you also tried to call customer service and you got the automated "greeting" that they have stopped taking service calls. 3) Login to your phone carriers account and print the call logs indicating your attempt to call sunrocket's 800 number. 4) Call your credit card dispute resolution department IMMEDIATELY. Most credit card will have this department open for 24 hours. Have them fax the dispute form (if they do not have them online for printing). Immediately fax them the above proofs along with the completed dispute form and a cover letter indicating that you had paid for 2 years of service and the service ended abrubptly, and calls to customer service were futile. 5) Sit back and relax. The credit card company will generally attempt to call Sunrocket's 800 number to check, and if they are unable to reach SR, they will automatically credit you the amount they charged. |

Just FYI - I did manage to cancel all other charges from Sunrocket (monthly international calling charges). The only thing that is still uncancelled is the $199 initial charge, for which they require the things I mentioned in my post. So basically, if I get refunded that $199, I would have got almost 4 months of service from sunrocket for free :d |

| Do they take into effect that the transaction is for a service that is for a certain time limit? I am off by two months. -- All information expressed in this post is my opinion, and should not be regarded as a statement of fact. |

So... When does the class action lawsuit start. I think I deserve some inconvienince money. SR is going to be what we attorneys call "judgment proof", meaning they've got no money for the court to award you. Trust me, another attorney friend and I already discussed this. |

If we can dig up some info on Lisa Hook...
Have some pizza's delivered. Have Chinese delivered. Send her flowers. Send her nuts (Jericho fans understand) Sign her up on any catalog list we can find. Put her name on church calling lists. Pet her name on any calling list. Prank call her. Register her for the ebay service that calls you when auctions end, then watch a TON of auctions. Use Viatalk free, connect her to random fun places.
On the illegal side however would be fun none the less... Have her trash service stopped. Disconnect other utilities. File random complaints with the FCC her having problems with multiple regulated services. Same for the PUC in her state.
Just some ideas, I would not recommend doing any of this. |

I have a Cap 1 Platnium card if that makes a diff? Well my charge is back in the end of Jan. She did talk to a supervisor. Maybe it was beacuse more people are calling about SR. I wasn't going to fight it, since calling means nothing. It is always best to write your CC anyways. I got a Platinum card too. -- All information expressed in this post is my opinion, and should not be regarded as a statement of fact. |

| reply to walletless This is funny. I take credit cards in my business with a real merchant account, same as Sun Rocket (ie: not a paypal or other individual money transferring service)
One thing that any processor I've ever had disallows is for me to accept payment for any service that is for more than 90 days worth of service, oddly enough, the same amount my card holders are allowed to dispute a charge.
I'm really surprised that companies like SR, and even ViaTalk, are allowed to take these "annual plan" payments like they are.
They have to be able to stand behind their charge against the card and they certainly can't do that in month 9 of a 12 month transaction with a 90 day charge-back window.
It will be interesting to see how Visa, MC, AE, and Disc take this when they suddenly see a flood of charge-backs for SunRocket and realize they aren't going to be able to reclaim the money. -- "Complaining is the least path of resistance for the self-serving, the lazy, and Im told its a womans prerogative..." |
