I just got with a csr and her supervisor at Wachovia Bank as I used my visa check card for the purchase. The supervisor told me that it is visa's policy not to allow the bank to refund charges after 60 days but that he could file a dispute with visa for up to 120 days. He said it will be up to visa to decide if any refund is due and they should contact me within 7 to 10 days.

i just got prorated refund for 9 months from my cc. i had faxed in my request few days back.
if you have option to 'talk to a csr' or 'fax in the request'. Do the latter (fax) since sometimes CSR's are clueless. Charge on my account was about 4 months old and online they said 60 days but I still got the refund.
And do it FAST, if sunrocket merchant account is closed, then you will be SOL.. get it while you can.

If anybody got denied a dispute from their credit card in the past couple of days you should try again. A couple of days ago Amex wouldn't let me dispute the Sunrocket charge because it was made 6 months ago and they only go back 60 days for disputes. I called 4 different times and I received the same answer. I called today and I had no problem getting a temporary credit and an open dispute against Sunrocket. I believe they all now know of the Sunrocket situation and felt the heat of hundreds of customers wanting something done. Try Again.

I called juniper bank they said I have to wait until the service is cut off before placing a dispute.does anuone knows when the sevice will stop.

Just to rain on your guys parade, you need to understand discover dispute practices a little bit better. They will pretty much take any chargeback you ask for, and will temporaraly credit you the balance back, but that is just the beginning. Don't throw away your paperwork yet or spend that 200 because it isn't yours yet. They will contact you in 30-60 business days asking for more material, also they will want to hear from the vendor and its response. SR may of closed doors but they don't want to loose all that money back, they probably will assign the revenue and debt to someone else and they will dispute every chargeback.
This is troubling to hear. Especially because I used my Discover Card to pay. I reported this early on 7/17 to the CC company. I hope they don't screw me over...I mean, what is the point of staying with a CC provider if there is no protection from a fraudulent business practice? And make no mistake...SR took money and didn't provide service for the term of the contract. If Discover doesn't allow me a credit for my unused portion of service then they'll lose me as a customer, simple as that. I will not put up with being screwed over (at least not twice anyway).

Just tell them service stopped already. There's nobody at sunrocket to tell them otherwise.

According to the new company teleblend, SR's service should shut down at 12:01 am on 7/23.

FYI...

I disputed my SR charge with Chase on Monday evening and the credit has been posted to my account as of today. Since there's nobody home at SR anymore to challenge the refund, I'm sure it'll stick.

So, I basically paid SR for the 3 months of service I used and not a penny more - time to forget 'em and move on.

I called Amex (Starwood Preferred Guest card), and they were happy to open a Dispute case for me. My Sunrocket charge was on 4/6, so over 60 days. The rep said that usually they need to be opened within 60 days, but since "the phone company going out of business was beyond my control", they waived the 60 day policy.

The rep didn't seem like he knew about Sunrocket, but was still very helpful! If you had a problem with Amex before, I'd suggest giving them another try too!

I filed a dispute by phone last night with WAMU on my Debit MasterCard. My charge was from January of this year. I was told they would investigate and let me know in 10 days.

Please note - I talked to a regular banking CSR as she was unable to transfer me to Disputes Dept due to volume of calls (SR customers, maybe?), so I don't know if it will really go through or not.

I just filled a dispute with Bank of America. I have Platinum Check Card. It was very easy, they asked when I tried to contact SR, nothing else. My payment was made on June 18th (less than 60 days). I will have a refund of the total amount 231.70 on July 23th, that means tomorrow. Then I will receive a form that I have to sign and send it back to BOA.
I'm very pleased with BOA service.

don't use WAMU

seriously, they should be able to see how large a problem this is. escalate it.

wachovia refunded me a pro-rated amount for the remainder of my contract, even though it billed was over 8 months ago.

mine was juniper too. they have a fax number to fax in the request. I directly faxed the dispute to them without talking to CSR.. they refunded prorated amount ..
do it ASAP before Sunrocket merchant account is closed or they run out of money in that account.

No luck with AMEX. 60 day reasoning. I'm a little surprised as usually their customer service is top notch compared to other banks and cc providers.

What I look for in a credit card has changed after SunRocket:

Before SunRocket: What is the lowest interest rate card available?

After SunRocket: How long after a charge do you allow me to contest that charge? What is your policy on a refund timeframe?

I am still waiting to see if my credit card is going to do any refund. It appears I will have to wait 2 to 3 weeks before I get my answer.

I just sent an email to member services asking for refund.

An automated reply was sent, directing me to sign in to member services on the site.

This took me to my request on my member services pace, with no response from them yet.

I've not called the cc company yet but will do that tonight. There shouldn't be any issue as I only signed up on the 12th.

I called the cc company a couple of hours ago.

They said that no charge from the 11th is showing, and no charge for this month.
