| Netopia modem problem
I used a westell 2100 for years till recently, about 2 weeks ago the speed went from 1492 to no higher than 576, had 3 different people come out to see what was wrong, one said nothing was wrong, another did some stuff at the pole, and at the nid but still was the same
they then gave me a 6100 westell modem, it had the same problem, then the last tech came out and said the new modem was bad, and gave me a netopia modem
all problems were gone for a few days, today the netopia modem will not sync, but the 2100 will sync at 576 no problem
any ideas what it could be?

| Hmm. Did you test the connection at the NID yourself? Sounds like those techs just pushed you away; doesn't sound like they were doing their job. I'd keep calling and insist that your speeds are no where where they should be. Eventually you'll get a tech that's willing to take care of the problem. |

| i havent tested the netopia modem at the nid yet myself, just thought it was wierd that an old modem would get sync and a brand new one wouldnt
the old modem syncs at same speed at the nid than in the house since its a homerun that means it should all be good in that regard
im about ready to just give comcast a call and get 6mb instead of the 1.5 im stuck with bellsouth |
