Spoke to a friend who has SunRocket in NJ..He is still getting a dial tone. He got 199. For 18 months last April..So he got a huge value. The rule applies that you cannot just be a phone service, particularly a residential phone service and make a profit. Packet 8 and Vonage seem to be the two independents that have some time left..But the clock is ticking. Some Small carriers can still exist in the market, but whats the big advantage, if its not price. The quality of the cable networks and telephone networks are far better, and there competitive with players like Vonage and Packet 8.
Remember were still in the first 5 years of the big VOIP boom. The next 5 years Cable companies will continue to be in this space. Sprint does a great job here. |
