Call Forwarding

Okay... So I got my account set up at VT and I have submitted the paperwork to port my number from SR... hopefully all will go well... In the meantime, does anyone know if things will get screwy if I forward my SR number to my VT number until the port is complete? I know it sounds like a stupid question but I want to make sure all my bases are covered.
