More Number Porting Updates - SR -> VT

We have set things up now such that you can request your number port before your equipment and number etc. are provisioned on our side to get the ball rolling. To do so, fill out our letter of authorization, and write 'SunRocket' where your current phone number would go on the LOA. Instructions are located here:

I haven't been setup yet on the BYOD plan, but I just faxed in my form and left the VT phone number line blank. However, I did put "Sunrocket" for the current carrier, will this be enough or should I re-fax the form?

Thanks.

As long as you have some other paperwork attached to it (your SR info) so they know who you are, yeah that will do it.

Great I faxed that too. One other thing. I just saw that I can't do two lines on my existing unlocked Innomedia device. I signed up for BYOD, but is it possible to place an order for your device, or will you be rolling out the 2 lines for our devices sometime soon?

Thanks.

Great idea. Glad to hear it. And maybe it avoids all that churn in temporary numbers. Too bad you can't do it all with a web form, but I guess you need that signature...

Is there an email address we can email scans of this document for those of us who, um, don't have a working phone?

If you send it in jpeg format to loas@viatalk.com. If its 1 attachment, send 1 email. If its 2 attachments, send 2 emails.

I had faxed my LOA documents yesterday for both household and signature numbers. My signature # - I ported from SBC -> Packet 8 -> Sunrocket like 4 years back and household number - sunrocket assigned number. Now the question that I have
1. Does it really matter whether its a household number or signature number that I'm trying to port?
2. At what time do I have to decide/instruct VT to make my signature number as my main line and the household number as the 2nd free VT number(I don't know what it is called in VT world )?

If you're looking for a "signature number" vt's equivelant would be a virtual number.

But VT gives you a much better free feature- TWO PHONE LINES with the same number.

Awsome feature. I like how you can be on the phone when an important call comes in and somebody can just pick up the second line.

(Which reminds me, will existing customers ever get to try this out??)

Choosing between JPG and PDF file to send via email, I'm picking PDF because I can easily group all the pages into one PDF and send as one attachment. It seems easier for ViaTalk to deal with (and I want to make it as easy as possible)!

I may be sending 3-4 pages because the invoice page from Sunrocket doesn't actually have the phone number on it!

Anyway, I'm sending it tomorrow when I have access to a scanner.

Thanks.

I have a problem as my SunRocket service address is different from my current address. I did not bother changing it when I moved (stupid of me). The shipping and billing address is my new one. Will this cause a problem?

Brendan,

I've already sent my port request for one of my SR numbers and I have sent a ticket in requesting a virtual number from you guys. Is there anyway I can get the port started in advance for my second SR number to the new virtual number (that doesn't exist yet). I'd hate to confuse your porting department by sending another LOA with a different SR number and just put SunRocket instead of the virtual number. Hope that made sense.

I have the exact same problem. I had put in a request to change my address when I moved, but it never happened on the SR end due to the company imploding. I hope this will not cause an issue.

Same thing here, except I moved 3 mos ago and didn't update the service address due to SR probably getting pissy over E911 since I moved to a new (but very adjacent and not far away and in the same area code and county) city.

I don't think this will be a problem. They want the old address for porting purposes only, I believe.

My order hasn't even gotten billed yet but I'm going to email this in anyway since I need my phone ASAP. My cell phone doesn't work in this apartment, so people are calling me, I can't answer, and I can't check my voicemail unless I drive to somewhere with signal.

I am currently. There was a beta invite done in a thread a few weeks ago.

Also, at least one BYOD user has had limited success emulating the feature by manually configuring his or her PAP2 (see posts by Pinan).

I'm not at all sure what is and is not suported or allowed by VT for users not explicitly enrolled into the feature.

I faxed it today at 10:58 CST. What's supposed to happen now? Can I expect an confirmation email of sorts? If so how long might that take now as I've been waiting since "2007-07-16 23:27:17" for the billing step.

Thnx

I just mentioned this to VT customer service (I am waiting for provisioning - i.e. no VT number yet), and they advised that not having the VT phone number on the LOA form would make it invalid, and that it would have to be resent. Something about the form being a legal document that can only be marked-up in the signer's handwriting. Comments?
