Re: Official email from Sunrocket

My sunrocket service still works except the international calling. When I dialed zero "0" I got a myteleblend rep and he told me that they are providing my service and I did not take any action all. He said that they are a company that was in business for 20 year prividing voip to businesses and that myteleblend is new for residential customers. My service is still up but I just signed up with vonage, they offer 2 months free, free equipment, overnight shipping, and no activation fee and month to month billing for $ 25.

I have put this in a few threads, there are so many, so I will put this here too...

This is how Teleblend comes up on my CC for the new service I got with them:

TeleTubby fixed the website so only valid credit card numbers will work now.

Have you seen this post here:
»The Packet8 SunRocket 'Deal'

Looks like it might be a scam site... If you enter your phone number on the first page, it doesn't matter what it is, it sends you to another page where it asks you for things like your name, address and, the kicker, credit card information.

So I entered bogus contact and credit card information and was immediately taken to a page that read:

"Your credit card will be charged today for the first month of service. Each month, on your signup day, you will be charged for an additional month of service. You can cancel at any time and we offer an unconditional 31-day money-back guarantee. You will receive an email with your username and password once your account has been activated."

It then asks you to submit, claims it is processing and says:

"Thank you for your business! Your new customer number is: 1278."

All this despite all of the information being completely false...

Definitely suspicious...

Thanks for the info. I just signed a minute ago and it did not retrieve my information based on my Sunrocket number. Although I immediately received an e-mail with my Customer No. Let's see how it goes with the porting and un-interrupted service.
Sure thing. We are all in the same boat here.

I hope there is no more interruption in service, although mine has been more up than down during this whole thing.

I also have received the e-mail today at 5.13 pm. My phone is still working in TEXAS for US calls only, but Not International. How long will the service be on. I might switch to Teleblend just so I can keep my phone number and then see what happens. Although they have posted the New Monthly Price of $19.95 per month. My Contract Expires mid-August.
The new info seems to be the 23rd or so of July.

I have switched to TB, and have been charged my first months service. Willing to hang in here, and see where we are in a month or so.

My service is also working, no idea if it's because of SR, or TB, and frankly I don't care.

refunds from bankrupt companiesRe: Official email from Sunrocket

not a chance of getting funds from a bankrupt company. Look at enron - those people lose HUGE retirements while Ken Lay family get to keep all that he stole..

When a huge department store went bankrupt, I lost my funds for a six month plan on oil changes.

Calling your credit card company and asking to reverse charges or dispute them for service not received seems to be the one thing that has worked for Chase cc members for sure and others have to do a little more leg work to get some while Discover refused after six months and I am sure others will be somewhere in the middle

I got the email from SR yesterday, and now got the same exact email from Sherwood Partners. Maybe this is SR's new 2 for 1 deal!

former annual member Re: Official email from Sunrocket

just received the email today, friday, at 1:30pm
I had annual plan and had resigned up in March for 15 months. I like their service and had used the signature number in another state. To have all those features for so little money compared to the phone companies has been nice. Yes sometimes the line was not clear but most of the time it was good. I used a chase cc and was able to call them and get a prorated rebate. My suggestion based on that, is only use a Chase CC for charges, they made it painless.

Not sure who or what I will do yet. Since right now the DEALS are out there, but find reviews of services after less than 6 months are not as valuable as those where people were with someone longer. Some seem to just complain. I am sorry you feel shafted. Have you tried to call your credit card company. They will have better luck getting the money back than anyone and giving you credit now.

Re: Alternative to sunrocket

I still have service with SR as of 7/20/07 12 mst. Look up magic jack looks very intersting. I will try it only $40. Still signing up with another carrier for voip. But this magic jack looks really cool! And I do not work for them.

This blog at the NY Times describes how the Wall St Journal has reported that the "preferred" companies - Teleblend and Packet8 - will pay a fee to SunRocket’s creditors for each SunRocket customer they sign up.

So if you want to get insulted twice - first by losing your service and the money you paid Sunrocket, then by helping to reimburse it's creditors, by all means go with the "preferred" vendors.

I smell fraud. That's what I smell.

Unless I get my $$ back, for service that I paid for and didn't receive, I don't want anything to do with sunrocket or its partners, or anyone they recommend. Period. IMHO Teleblend is ONE GIANT FRAUD based off the people that used to run SR

The people who ran SR belong in jail - all of them. Especially Lisa Hook.

I have not received an email or any correspondence from SR so far. I called my bank today to have the charges reversed and the customer service rep said that I was among MANY that he had reversed. I am fairly new to SR so I was on day 57 of the 60 day window to get the reversal. He also told me that the bank would put the money back into my account, notify SR of the reversal and unless they contact me to dispute it, I'm finished.

Now my dilemna, do I go with Teleblend and let them think I'm a sucker or do I just look else where.
