parts of article not bogus I'm the customer quoted in the article. My other posts are consistent with this (I mentioned contacting the press as well as Mr. Taxin in previous posts). I initiated contact with an editor at ZDNet, who put me in touch with the author of the article. I did in fact speak on the phone to the author, and he did quote me accurately.
The author claimed that he had been in touch with people at Phoenix/Megapath (and that they were quite willing to talk to the press). I don't have any direct evidence myself about what was said, but some of our discussion (specifically regarding having e-mails confirmed when received by Phoenix) possibly had an effect on Phoenix's policy, so I believe him when he says he talked to them.
I can tell you that the reporter was a former Phoenix subscriber who had some trouble canceling his service.
Also, Phoenix Customer Care DEFINITELY knew that ZDNet had been contacted by me. I received an e-mail from a supervisor named Cheryl at Phoenix Customer Care that quoted the e-mail that I had sent to ZDNet. Whether or not they took it seriously is a different matter. |
