16.5/2 still capped for excessive uploading?

I would assume so, I doubt this is being implemented due to any network upgrades behind the scenes..

I would love to know why this IS being implemented, beyond what I can guess is the reason.

We all know that OOL implemented the bump to 15/2 from 10/1 in response to FIOS, but this does not fit a competition response bump in speed.

Perplexing.

I guess i'll test the cap issue whenever my speeds are upgraded.

Hopefully i won't have to deal with the same tech that uncapped me last time. (3 years ago) He wanted to remote desktop to my computer and check my programs, to see if i was using any p2p apps.

I don't know that they are still capping for excessive upload. I can't recall anyone posting here about being capped in the past month or two.

I'm certain they did not increase my speeds to 15/2 because of FIOS, since there is no FIOS or other fttp service planned for my area for the forseeable future - 5 years minimum.

I think the information you need comes before that, you have to scroll up a little more. The 5000000 is your upstream the downstream comes before that.

I believe that is showing 5mbit upload limit, and 0 (no limit) on download.

I just recently had a 6 hour power outage. After getting power back I got the slight boost of download speed.

Jaa, just because FIOS will probably never be available in your area, does not mean that the driving force for OOL to increase speeds was not FIOS, which is available in almost all the areas served by OOL, or will be soon, with the exception of your area.

Not everything revolves around you Jaa.

So what you are saying is unlike Verizon who has different speeds (some received increases while many did not) and pricing (NY has lower costs for the highest speed package) in different markets, CV is giving everyone the same increase regardless of competitive offers throughout their coverage areas.

I think it depends on what version you have. I have the WRT-54G V3 and i cant get over 24 mb down with that router.
