Last night I rebooted, DOCSDIAG still showed 30/5
Just rebooted now, the 30 is no longer there, and speedtest confirms:

For this time of day, that's blazing - normally it would be somewhere around 22-24 down and 3.9 up.

| reply to jwersan said by jwersan :said by jaa :I'm certain they did not increase my speeds to 15/2 because of FIOS, since there is no FIOS or other fttp service planned for my area for the forseeable future - 5 years minimum. Jaa, just because FIOS will probably never be available in your area, does not mean that the driving force for OOL to increase speeds was not FIOS, which is available in almost all the areas served by OOL, or will be soon, with the exception of your area. Not everything revolves around you Jaa. AFAIK, every other broadband provider provides different speeds and pricing based on the competition in that area. FIOS certainly does it - much better speeds and lower prices in CV territory than in other areas.
CV does not do that - at least not so far. The biggest competition in CT served by AT&T is u-verse with an ultra package boasting 6mbps download speed!
I don't think the CV speeds are driven by FIOS. They offered 10/1 speeds long before FIOS was on the radar screen and the competition was 3/384 DSL.
They have maintained price while continually increasing speed. It looks like they may have stopped capping upload, or changed their parameters. I've been uploading torrents at 1.5mbps for 24 hours. No cap. -- NOTHING justifies terrorism. We don't negotiate with terrorists. Those that support terrorists are terrorists. |

| reply to srstakey I rebooted my modem and got the bump in speed...
I would have assumed that if OOL had pushed out the new configs, they would remotely reboot all the modems too.

| Most people will not use more Bandwidth due to the extra speeds, they will simply do the same stuff they are doing faster, this is especially true since the change is on the Download side. -- Warning, If you post nonsense and use misinformation and are here to argue based on those methods, you will be put on ignore. |

1 edit | Yeah, I'm finally getting close to or better than advertised speeds.
I might even think about paying for Boost if they can keep this up.
Oh, and to La Luna - try rebooting it again today, I think they finally dood it up here! |

| reply to Ken Peterson Thats is what i was thinking because of my speeds being so weird. Sometimes its fast and sometimes its slow but right now it sucks and its not even 15 mb. Maybe it will get fixed soon after some tweaking on there end but for now my line has been messed up since like april. |
