Jaa, just because FIOS will probably never be available in your area, does not mean that the driving force for OOL to increase speeds was not FIOS, which is available in almost all the areas served by OOL, or will be soon, with the exception of your area.

I'm certain they did not increase my speeds to 15/2 because of FIOS, since there is no FIOS or other fttp service planned for my area for the forseeable future - 5 years minimum.

I would love to know why this IS being implemented, beyond what I can guess is the reason.

We all know that OOL implemented the bump to 15/2 from 10/1 in response to FIOS, but this does not fit a competition response bump in speed.

I didn't cancel OOL yet because i got Boost free for 5 months because the problem was on there end which they confirmed. If they don't fix it i wont pay Boost again and keep complaining until they fix it or i get Fios which ever comes first.
